Painting a Savage "tuppa Ware" Tactical stock ?

I like this, so how do you apply the web paint?
I'm thinking it's a rattle can.
I'm curious also. A few folks have asked me about doing a "web" camo job for them.
I'm wanting the info just to pass on to those interested in doing DIY camo jobs.
Always willing to point someone in the right direction to get the best results possible out of their efforts, weather it's a camo job with rattle cans, or a custom dye project on highly figured wood.
I've done a few stocks posting pics of the various steps I go through repairing and painting.
When my 06' gets back from Skaggs, I'm gonna take my edgefill and remove all the
checkering, followed up with a camo job done with negatives, main body of camo will be matched to ceracoat on action and barrel.

Can't wait to see the finished product. I would really like to do something to my Tupperware Kimber Hunter stock. Still wanting to meet up with you for lunch, have not forgotten just the days go by so fast

Beautiful stocks, what is your secret? What was your base color on top photo ? Then what color cola tool web ? I really like your taste, been looking at custom camo jobs and have not seen anything I like that comes close to your colors. IMO
The base color on the top rifle is OD green. The webbing is gold. Duracoat matte clear top coat on all the stocks.

If you want you can camo with contact adhesive paper. I will warn you, I thought it would take me a couple of hours but it took all day!20190210_140215.jpg

How about the bottom rifle, what was the base and web? Hope I'm not a big pain in the xss but I really like the colors

No problem.
The bottom rifle is black base coat and gold webbing.

Dramatically different effect between base colors.

In case you are wondering, the two rifles that own Leupold scopes got gold webbing.

I didn't scuff the surface, just clean a couple of times with 91% alcohol.

Necromancing this as I'm about to do a paint job to my 110 Ultralight. Do you guys put a protective coating on top of the paint job? If so, any recs on which one? I've done a few quick rattle can jobs on hunting rifles and ARs that have turned out fine, but want this one to be pretty professional. So far planning to:

1. Clean with Isopropyl alcohol, allow to dry
2. Coat of adhesion promoter
3. Coat of primer
4. Base coat x2
5. Top coat x2
