Painting a Foundations stock.

I’m a big fan of the dark distressed finish on Foundation stocks, but I now have three in that color and I'm looking to change things up a bit. I'm considering applying a camo pattern—has anyone here successfully painted one of these?

Given that Foundations are solid micarta, I’m curious about surface prep and paint compatibility. What’s the best way to ensure proper adhesion—light sanding, degreasing, or any kind of primer? What type of paint have you used (Cerakote, DuraCoat, automotive epoxy, etc?)

Also open to sending it out—any recommendations for professional painters or cerakoters with experience working on Foundation stocks?

@RiflePainter Johnathan Jones of Alabama Gun Works is your guy for ceracoat. His work blows me away!!
Yes to cleaning prior to sanding, with use of a quality adhesion promoter is definitely in order to guarantee adhesion.
Automotive epoxy can bite you in the ass if you don't have a complete understanding in its use and application.
I would recommend Glasurit 934-70.
934-70 is a adhesion promoter designed for plastics can be mixed as a high build surface or as a sealer.

@RiflePainter did a camo ceracoat for me on some Accuracy International chassis skins that had been Kryloned by the previous owner. Did a great job and I too would recommend talking to him.
