PA Semi auto

Personally I'd don't hunt with any kind of a semi-auto. However, I know guys that do and who are every bit the hunter any bolt guy is. They are deadly, first shot type of Gents. If you not a semi-auto fan that's your choice but if another guy is I believe he should be able to have the freedom to make that choice. The guys at ranges and public places who have no etiquette and act like hood rats, well they suck.

I'm apply to live in Arizona, lots of public land, lots of firearm freedom

I was all for semi's for hunting. I myself have no need to hunt big game with one. Groundhogs and small game yes. I do believe we should have the option if we want to we can. BUT there should be a caliber restriction on it. HOLD ON listen to my reason. Most here are not for the 223 for big game. Those who do use a 223 for big game also use the correct bullet. NOW think about all those $450-500 ar's that are out there and all the AMISH that are "if its brown its down". Now they go buy a cheap ar along with the cheapest fu$$ing ammo they can find. That ammo will be either varmint style bullets or full metal jacket bullets and that is what they will be blasting away with at the deer and bear. If you think they (amish) are only going to have 5 rnd clips with them well then you are crazier than the christmas goose 2 days before christmas. I live and work with these people, if they can use a ar they will but they will not take the time to learn how to use it or what it takes to use a 223 for big game. With a caliber restriction I'm all for semi's for big game with out a caliber restriction I think the Game Commission did the right thing.
This is my .02 on this subject for what its worth.

PS I would love to hunt deer just once with my rem. 740 because I think it is a cool rifle. The same with some of the first semi's, it would be like taking a step back in time because of their craftsmanship, design and elegance.

You raise some VERY good points about our brethren hunters but I'm trying to remember if they are shooting the pump Remingtons. The ones I know are using the cheapest MLs and used bolt actions they can find. I'm not so sure they're going to pony up the money for ARs to simply wipe out one area and then have no more use for them. Scuttlebutt I'm hearing is they are running out of areas to hunt and are generally persona non grata wherever they seek permission to hunt. Something to ponder.

It just makes no sense to me. If you don't like it don't use it!
Anti gun people say (there is no need for private people to have guns) we stand behind the second amendment and say it's not about need it's about rights. If you don't want to exercise your right fine but don't take my right away.
Anti AR people say (There is no need to use a gun like that for hunting) YOUR USING THE SAME ARGUMENT AS ANTI GUN PEOPLE.

Because a few people might not do things the right way we should prevent that by banning anyone from using them........ Sounds like ever anti gun lobbyist to me.

well I have never been a big AR guy or military rifle guy. Yes I have shot and used most of them but I have been more of a precision rifle guy since early childhood. But the last few years have found me playing with the AR because I believe we eventually will have to use them. I seen in the news where the liberals are breeding Cheetah's in Virginia they have quite a lot of them there and just had a litter of 10..they said cheetah's are almost extinct in the world...dumb a*s's there is a reason for that and they are not native to the USA. You know some are going to get loose and the last thing I need when out on a night coyote hunt is to run into a escaped cheetah because you ain't going to out run it. what happens if you run into several escaped cheetah's THAT IS WHY we need the AR..for Cheetah's and stuff.
