PA Semi auto

Just heard a rumor that PA pulled a reversal on the final vote and is only going to allow rim fire semi auto's???? Anyone else heard this? my resource is usually spot on but this is a surprise.

They are allowing semi-auto's for small game hunting only. No deer, black bear, elk or turkey.

Only big game has been excluded.

The news reports I read, and my opinion, they didn't have the cojones to include big game even though ALL data said there was no safety issues and there was support for the five round magazine limit but they went by a survey that didn't have that restriction in the questionnaire. I suspect they'll do like they did with crossbows, ease in to it and revisit the issue next year. Sunday hunting is still a dream.

Hey guys, I lived in PA for 58 years and never needed a second shot at any big game.Lucky? I guess,but would love to had the chance to shot SA at varmints.But I think the media reports any SA guns as machine guns and gives our side a black eye.Too bad.I`m in Delaware now but hopefully not for long (NFL) .I moved here at the urging of the other half and didn`t notice that there are no mountains.My fault.I need to come back. Now, now, they like their bibles in PA and elsewhere but actually religion is the root of no Sunday hunting. It harkens back to the days of the "Blue Laws" when most stores weren't allowed to open. Now other special interests have prostituted that reason to suit their own purposes.

Because the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting. Is my reply to them.

The PA Farm Bureau has opposed Sunday hunting. Most of the farms where I hunt are owned by deeply religious people that will not permit Sunday hunting regardless what the law says. I personally have no problem hunting on Sunday but I don't want to piss off the farmer who has given me access to his land.

I'm not against ARs, in fact I used one when I was in the Army in the 70's. I realize that this is the new weapon of choice so be it. But after 40+ years of hunting I've never saw the need for a semi-auto rifle for deer or varmint hunting.
