P-dogs.

Just got back in from a small shoot of 1.5 days.
Close to 900+ rounds fired from my pal & I in just a section of property.
I put 575 into them and he small bit less.
Me w/my Savage build, 223, 50g vmax, 24" 1/14tw bbl.
Him a TC 204, 2 svage .223, 1 savage 22-250.
Just thousands of them, we were over run each day.
Grounds move like a hay field with them running.
Average shooting was 40 feet to a 360 yards, tried to keep them all under 400 max due to the breeze (winds) out here. Both days were sunny/overcast, a bit of rain here & there, but ok overall.
We did not see any other shooters on other ranches or hear shots which was surpising since the ranchers said others will be in different sections. The eastern guys never showed up from what he said later. Usually we run into other shooters to get them set up in the areas they are ok to shoot in.
Lots of destroyed p-dogs, 100s & 100s of pups spread out for the coyote & birds.
Imperfect WY weather as usual changes quickly.

1.5 days eh?

You sure are lining the dream of so many. Keep up the fun and the reports. Many here welcome them and are inspired by them.

I understand the weather problem, especially this year. Hope to be out mid-week, forecast looks good. Your post got me excited to go.....Thanks

5spd--Great report. Thanks for sharing. Up here in NW ND I didn't see any pups out last Thursday. I was surprised because most years they are out running around by the third week of May--not this year.
