Oxidation? Water marks? On bullets

Has anyone seen this discoloration on your bullets?
I just opened a new box of 1000 lot. And to my surprise almost every bullet shows this effect in all sections of the bullet. I've ran my finger nail accross the areas I feel nothing. Shootem? Any Input?
I've tried to take some pics I can't it to show up. I'll keep trying to get a pic.

What brand of bullets? If you can't get a picture up--describe as best you can.

130TVLDs, they look like water marks. But I can't buff them out with polishing cloth.

So it's more of a stain than actual degradation of the jacket? If so I'd go ahead and shoot them.JMO Would be interesting to know where the stain came from , though.

I once got some Nosler Custom Competition bullets that had some sort of dark stain on them. Rubbed them with a piece of nylon stocking. Nylon didn't unravel, so I shot them. Didn't see any loss of accuracy.YMMV dedogs

It's just water marks. Sometimes if the final rinse water isn't perfectly clean, you'll see these marks, like spots on your dishes. No affect on how the bullets load, shoot, or fly. Appearance is the only thing affected.

I had that same thing and also small black specks on some Berger 52gr. .224 bullets. I could not get it to come off so I shot them, they shot fine.

I would say shoot em!

bullets are chemically "washed", then dried , as one of the final steps in commercial bullet-making. Sometimes, all of the wash solution is not completely removed, and you will see that discoloration. Shoot them.

Nosler has a site Shooters Pro Shop, they sell their bullets that look like that as Blems or seconds doesn't affect performance in any way but they sell them at a great discount. :

I had the same issue, call them. I also had several "corroded" ones in the box (155.5 fullbore). They took care of it GREAT CS).

Some look like there might be start of corrosion. The colors vary rust almost, light rust to silverist. But I dont feel anything as of yet. I would hate to open all the boxes and go thru them.

Ive been told by an older gentleman, who was a very experienced shooter and handloader, to soak them in paint stripper overnight. He used an old metal coffee can. Have not tried it personally though. Maybe just try it with a few bullets to see how it works. If it works well, you could do the rest of you wish. Take care.
