Oversize thickness 700 recoil lug preference?

I have the Kleinendorst recoil lug alignment tool for both the factory profile and Holland profile. What brand recoil lug do you guys prefer that will fit either of the jigs?

Couldn't tell ya what other lugs might precisely match the profile of Holland's.
Particularly for hard-hitting magnums, I'm partial to oversize and thicker lugs. Can't argue that increased surface area and stiffness can only help...

I do wish there'd be some standardization on them insofar as taper for non-factory pattern lugs.

My shoulder was never tough enough to flex a .180 something thick piece of steel.
I’m thinking about what our stocks are made of and the amount of force it would take to make a factory lug flex and I came to the conclusion that oversized recoil lugs were silly. Ground true a factory lug should handle anything we’re going to shoot. If a factory lug is flexing the stock is trashed and you’re beating the action open with a hammer…if you’re lucky !

Factory lugs are fine if they’re trued up. Grind them and they’ll be fine. You’re not going to bend one in a stock using any sane load. As for alignment tools; you can make one out of brass or aluminum that is machined to fit the contour of the action, cut for the width of the lug and screwed in the front action mounting hole.
