We bought this about 2 weeks ago, we got it all set in and running.

We already had a #5, but we can now use it exclusively for cutting Key Seats in Shafts. This one will handle other operations.

It’s a mid 1960‘s #5 Kearney & Trecker. It came out of Government Storage. It has a 40 HP mototor.

That’s my older brother and younger brother in the picture.

Good your & your brothers know how to run the older machinery. Most of the younger generation would not know what to do with it, if they could turn it on.

Have the first lathe I learned to operate when I was 14/15 years old. ( just the other day)

1914 model E I think. Brought it home disassembled , cleaned, primed, repainted. Still holds good tolerance, if the operator doesn't screw up

Appreciate your posts and pictures Sir!

To all a good day!

Beautiful!

I imagine you use your new mill and your 38 foot American Lathe to do most of your precision gun work. Lol amazing equipment

Shop rag in the back pocket was what I liked about the pic.... Real artists with a palette of knowledge, experience and the drive and pride to succeed.

I do love old machinery. Great picture.
