OT Weird thistle

Put a lowball glass of Glenfidich about 4 feet away from the plant. If the plant starts to lean towards it, it’s Scottish thistle!

That's Soontobedeadchitweed, Round up works real well.

2,4-D kills it faster. It's starting to bloom so kill it and get it out of there before the seeds start blowing everywhere.

Be very careful with any kind of insecticide unless you don't care about the plants next to it. I think I would cut it about 4 inches above the roots, and then scrape the soil away in order to be able to remove the roots by hand.

2,4-D, or Roundup herbicides work through the plant and not through ground contact by the roots. Hand spray only the target thistle and the adjacent plants will be just fine.

Those damn things showed up here a few years ago in a load of mulch, up until I figured out the peach thieves don't like them I waged a useless war on them, they the thieves appear not to like getting their ankles stuck, of course this year only two sprouted, My all knowing governor says it a drier dry this year maybe that's why. Or I finally won??
