OT 70's on 7

Lions don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius XM.

On the weekend mornings they play the original recordings of Casey Kasem counts them down. Now when I was in high school it was all AM. I don't think I even had an FM radio at the time and the pop charts were what I listened to.

So every week they play the hits from that week from some year in the 70s. This week it just happens to be May 17, 1975 which is the month I graduated high school. So I'm listening to the top hits from that week right now. Lots of memories.

It's pretty cool when you hear Casey say things like, "I've got a new artist here I think you should listen to. Here is his first record debuting at number 37, Billy Joel" or introducing the Eagles first hit.

They probably do the same thing for 60s and 80s.

My Sirius is always tuned to the classic rock and roll. I graduated a cpl yrs before you do I’m guessing our taste in music is shared. Gotta love the old stuff

70's on 7 for me, too, when in my car. Love lots of different kinds of music but have really gotten hooked on this.

My Sirius Radio is set on two stations, 50’s on 5 and 60’s on 6.

A cute story about Billy Joel, I heard it on one of the late night talk shows where Joel was a guest. A young girl was in a music emporium with a man, the clerk saw the man with a set of headphones on, really rocking out and singing out loud.

The young girl Girl said....”Dad, your embarrassing me”

The guy rocking out with the headphones was Billy Joel.

I bounce around a lot too. My favorite rock station right now is 26 classic vinyl. I also hit some of the classical stations for background when I'm working. Right now my favorite stations for working in the garage is Pandora Cowboy Ballads, Marty Robbins Radio.

But it just amazes me to listen to quality sound replays of programs I listened to live in 1975.

I listen to it in the car all the time ,like you say it's funny when he mentions new artists and their debut hit . I graduated in 1979 , hearing Casey brings back some fond memories...and allows me to laugh at myself for some of the stuff I listened to.
