Optimum case fill ratio?

Optimum case fill ratio would be 100% ?

This is so it sits consistently against the bullet without space?

And you don't want to much of a compressed load because it crushes the kernels and can cause inconsistent ignition and burn?

More or less, yes, you've got it right. That said, I've had wonderful success with loads in the 95% range...

Yeah, me too. Most of my top loads have been either in the 95% range or compressed. This is the first time I have ever started a load development from this angle. I usually fly by the seat of my pants.
