optimum barrel length for 6.5 x 47 lapua for f class.

Iam new here but I've been reading lots of good info,my question is what's a good length for an f class barrel I've already ordered one from krieger in 26 in. but it's not to late to change.iam not new to long range rifles but new to competition rifles.I've ordered it in 6.5x 47 lapua and plan on using a stiller viper action.any veteran answers would be greatly appreciated.

The weight limit for F Open is 22 lbs, you want to use as much of it as you can. Get a 30-32" straight-no taper.

Thank you guys for your response ,I had ordered a 1:8 twist should I go a little faster with the increase in barrel length if I plan to run a heavier bullet like a 140.

1:8" is plenty.

I will second Mr. Cortina.

I have only used 1 in 8 twist. It works well with light or heavy bullets in the 6.5 x 47 Lapua. I originally used 30" barrels and found they shot very well at 300 and 600 yards. I tried the 32" at 1000 yards and it was amazing. The Lapua Scenar L 136 is a really amazing bullet. I have also had good luck with the 130 VLD Berger. You will find lots of components work well in this caliber.
