Opticsplanet - "Ships in 1-6 days." - Yeah, right!

I've got a buddy that's been down this road with them twice now. Needless to say he's not real amused with their antics!

I had a couple of orders go okay, then got one hung up for weeks and they wouldn't/couldn't help. That was many years ago and I've never darkened their site since.

With all this issue that optics planet has, why and how are they still around. I have not heard any good comments about OP.

I haven't ordered anything from them in over a year(not for any particular reason) always had item in hand within 7 days. I have had more "issues" during COVID times, than any other period, with online orders. Buy local (in person)when possible and avoid delays.

I use optic planet and never had a problem. I even use Dvor which is a sister company of Optics Planet. We will see I just ordered $280.00 worth of stuff. The one company that always is the worst to me is Brownells. They ship using the slowest possibly way.

Going on 4 weeks now for a "supposedly" in stock item to ship!!!!!!

I'm done! Just requested the order be cancelled and started a PayPal dispute. Just wish I hadn't used PayPal. My bank would have reversed the charge immediately.

BBB complaint got immediate results. PayPal refund received this morning right after the BBB sent Optics Planet a message.

I am amazed at some of the comments made above regarding OP. I guess some have become so used to unacceptable service like this. To those that have, please feel free to continue doing business with them. I don't do business with companies that take my money immediately and then cannot fulfill there commitment. I requested that they permanently delete my account because I will NEVER do business with them again no matter what.

Optics Planet's response was: "Also, we’d like you to know that you can now cancel your orders, before the order is approved for shipment, directly through your OpticsPlanet My Account! This feature is only available if you have a verified My Account registered on our site. You can cancel orders by logging into your My Account by going to “Order History” under “Orders” and click the “Cancel Order” link located to the right of the specific order you would like to cancel. You will then be prompted to choose the cancellation reason and then we’ll work on canceling your order."

Wow! How about just fulfilling the orders you've accepted and charged for in a timely manner instead of making it easier to cancel orders.

I have had mixed, but overall satisfactory, results with them. While other companies can certainly beat their shipping times, I haven't found anybody that can beat their prices. If they have the item in stock, it get here like most other companies, if it isn't then it may be an extended shipping time. I usually order stuff from them that I don't need yesterday. I saved over $500 on a March scope and about $300 on a Leupold from other prices I found. Both were shipped within the expected time frame.
They also have a feature under the green "add to cart" button that gives an expected shipping time. I have no idea if that is accurate or not.
I have always found them to be extremely helpful on the phone and they will give you a best price if you ask for it.

I recently ordered a trigger from them and received it in a timely manner. I don't think I ever had any problems from them, but I don't order stuff from them very often.

Not looking to "beat a dead horse", but had to share this. I received an email this morning while out grocery shopping about another PayPal credit from Optics Planet for a little over $200. Silly me initially thought they must have issued me a credit because of how they jerked me around on my last order. I know, what was I thinking.

When I got home and logged into my accounts I realized the $200+ credit was for an item I returned to them waaaaaaaaaay back in November. Wonder if they would have ever issued the credit for the return if I hadn't opened a BBB complaint against them.

What a shady company!

I second EuroOptik. A friend and I both bought Sako 85 rifles recently. Mine was bought on a sunday, shipped on Monday($10) and arrived on Wednesday of the same week! Super to deal with.
