Don’t know if this would be of any help for anyone else but it helps me. I use a laser pointer to align the screens to the barrel. I used to just rubber band it to the bottom of the barrel but keeping it aligned with the axis of the barrel was a bit of a pain. So, I came up with this.
The beam is not aligned with the axis of the tube so I rolled it in a V block to find its lowest point. In that orientation I align the beam toward the bottom of the screen window so I’ll be sure not to hit it.
I milled a cavity to accept the on/off button so you need to just slide the pointer back in the delrin to turn it on. Once everything is aligned, remove it and you’re ready to go.
