opinions on mini-mauser

My mini has metric threads also. Below are some build photos at Kerry Stottlemyer's shop. He did the bolt handle, scope bases, scope rings, 3 pos safety, and 1 piece hinged bottom metal from James Anderson. Tigged the cut on the rear tang for the factory safety. The LH side of the receiver has a G33-40 Mauser cut.

I had one (Montana) ordered YEARS ago like larryh128 but I don't ever expect to see it. I bought a model 7 copy from Defiance Machine and haven't looked back. Guess there isn't enough business for anyone to commit to building a mini. As for the CZ I really haven't heard anything bad about it.

I don't expect to see mine either but I was hopeful for a year or so. I was concerned when the threads weren't speced out though. I think that it's strictly a deal of having enough capitol to work with. A difficult situation in today's economy. I believe that they are investment cast & that is a very expense start up cost to swallow if you don't have a huge bankroll behind you.

I had a mini mauser in .22ppc for a period of time that was pure hell on Pa. Woodchucks. I never really pushed it hard and It outran .223s easily. It was a consistent .5-.75 moa performer with a cheap barrel and little load developement.

Someone from McGowan, I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, was talking on one of the forums like they were going to be doing one but I think that one fell into a black hole also.
