An adjustable gas block is far from anecessity, as is removing the gas block with any frequency. With rare exceptions, I have also found them to be a one time assembly too. They are not a wear.
If your gun is reliable - then adjusting the gas is optional. Not every gun is reliable though, and certainly not when things like suppressors are added. And some destroy brass - given most shooters on this site also reload, this is also helpful.
