Opinion on Lee

Im sure many started with Lee when young and money was tight. I started with rcbs and sierra bullets in 1974 because my mentor used them and it worked well. I like Lee’s case lube, collet dies, factory crimp dies, deluxe powder measure, and their ram prime to name a few
I bought a Ram Prime about 6 months ago. Love it. Use it in a small Lee "C" press. Which has a small tray attached for the primers. Great set up.

Likely more people (like me sixty years ago) got their start with a Lyman Tong Tool. Starting about 1874 or even a bit earlier.
I've owned enough to consider them more of a plinkers' tool than precision.
Lyman 310. I sold off a bunch of dies a while back and regret it.

I'm not a big Lee Fan but I like some of their products.
On other forums I see some guys rant & rave on the Lee APP press for brass prep.
There was one on Ebay that ended tonight. I hit $100 last night at a local casino so I bid on it and bought it.
I should come in next week, I will be going back east on April 1st until April 14th.
When I get back from my trip I will probably set it up and give it a shot.
I have a hell of a lot of separated and wet tumbled brass out in the shed waiting for brass to go back up in price to make it worth my time to play with it again..
I might play with this gem and get some brass prepped.
If you use one or used one, whats your opinion of it?
Any other good fast way of brass prep?
If I dont like it I will probably sell it or trade it off.

Lee is the solid, dependable, never quit F150 (or insert favorite whatever) that didn't cost a fortune comparatively and while it may not be the fanciest available it's the solid reliable works every time one you always can depend on. Yeah, you can spend way more and get a fancy emblem. Gives you something to look at while broken down at the side of the road watching good old dependable motor on by.

Ive got two 550's on my bench. I'm a pretty notorious tight wads to but I bought a second one because I was to lazy to swap primer systems! Lol.
Lol, I almost bought a second Forster Co-ax for that same reason! For now I keep it setup for small rifle and I load larger stuff on my Lyman Turret and RCBS RC. Only 1 Dillon 550 though, well, except for my buddy’s that he has setup in my woodshop with his Rockchucker. I guess with 6 presses setup and another Rockchucker in “reserve” on a shelf, I should be ok. This is a great hobby!! :)
