Opening a new 8lb jug

I always leave the white foam sealer in place even if they tear.i didn't know humidity getting to powder was a thing until recently reading stuff on hear.i never leave anything open or powder in hopper more than an hour or so .never in temps over 77° I'd say.

go figure I put powder in basement cause it's fairly consistent temps all year and semi finished basement but I'm sure humidity is much higher in basement than upstairs in HVAC .

Haven't noticed any slow velocity and been keeping powder in basement for years.. hopefully nothing changes.lol

Crap already been wondering about ammonia in basement from grease trap from washing machine outlet pipe.had a few split cases im sure from crap surplus brass .time will tell.lol

This may be controversial, but here goes. I have a stable temp/humidity reloading room in my house where I also keep my powder. I open all of my common lot jugs of powder at the same time and let them climatize at once (a few hours). I then close those that I am not using and then get to work with the initial jug. IME, I don’t see speed differences when I move from jug to jug. Is it because my room stays stable or that I opened them all at once? No clue…
With storing the powder in a climate controlled area, I don't think it matters.

I can’t find the thread, there was a fairly recent one started about opening up and keeping your powder fresh. The seal on my jug tore trying to get it unstuck. Can that material be bought ? Recommendations
Try wax paper from your kitchen

Could rummage thru all of those shipping boxes everyone keeps and see if there is any suitable packing material is still in good shape. I've read of people putting saran food wrap over the opening and then putting the screw on lid back on.
First thing I thought of!

I use shrink wrap on all lids new, old, unopened, fold to 4 layers screw cap over it then trim excess
