OPEN CARRY FLORIDA

Open carry is legal in TN for Permit Holders, but very few elect to carry that way. I much prefer to carry concealed so that I'm not the first person the bad guys shoot because they could see that I was armed. Surprise is worth a lot. I do like the open carry being legal though, if nothing else to prevent getting arrested if a concealed firearm just happens to become exposed by accident.
I end up "showing" all the time while carrying concealed. Since I'm an old white haired white guy nobody pays attention to me anyway.... I don't get too worried about it.

In arkansas its always been legal but since nobody does it all the cops think its not. Every year a large group descends on our capital grounds and just walk around with the biggest and most guns they can carry. They do this to draw attention to it being legal. Its been going on for years every year and its all over the news but ive yet to see a single person outside that venue open carry. Even in our ccw classes the cops say youll be arrested if somebody sees the grip sticking out of your pocket. So the cops dont know the laws. Urban legends are usually what rules the land.
It has not always been legal to open carry in Arkansas. And actually Act 746 allows for a lot of interpretation that very well could land you in jail for carrying openly. I'll did a little deeper to get the actual ordinance number if you need it.

This is the reason some state pass an open carry law after the concealed carry law. It avoids the problem of having to deal with a concealed gun showing causing a problem.

I'm cool will see if it passes. Thanks larry

I believe it already passed in 2013 but it's was worded as to not really be specific weather it was legal or not on purpose.

Statute 5-73-120 made it illegal to carry a weapon with the intent to use it against another human, self defense or not.

^^^^ is actually a good read in the subject in Arkansas.
Now you can see why it was such a heated discussion with my very legally involved family.

Well bill HB1700 became law on 15aug2013 that cleared the air on the cloudy law. I live here so i see it every day. On that day arkansas became the 45th state to allow open carry. Like i said nobody knows the laws so people get hauled in to jail and freak out when they see it. Im sure it happens in the other 45 states too- wrongful harassment. I aint gonna do it since i recently sold every gun i owned but its common here.

Florida does not use the term "DA" for the prosecutorial functions in the counties of the state. The term is State Attorney who is an elected official of each Judicial Circuit in the state.

Make a phone call to the Lonoke county DA and you might be surprised at their answer...

Like i said, nobody even knows the laws. Tell the da to go to downtown little rock and arrest all that crowd. Its just one county away. Even in your state its legal.

When I got my CC permit many years ago the penalties were severe for allowing your gun to show to the sheep. Two years ago the lawmakers in Florida tried to pass open carry. At that time it didn't have chance to pass, so a compromise was reached and the penalties for showing were removed or reduced till they aren't much of a problem. Other changes were passed at that time but I don't recall what they were. This new legislation, if it passes will surprise me. I don't know if I will ever carry open, but not getting in a jamb when making a mistake or having a wardrobe malfunction sure will make me happy. If the new law will allow me to put the easy rider rifle racks in the back window of the pick up truck, then we will have a reason to celebrate
