OOPS I accidently mixed powders

I had a bit of Benchmark left and wanted to move into a full bottle. I accidentally poured it into a H380 half full bottle,. I guess I'll be dumping 1 1/2 lbs of powder. Can't imagine I can salvage this.

FORUM BOSS: Dump it. NEVER EVER attempt to load or salvage a mixture of powders.

I made the same mistake on a brand new 8lb jug of IMR4064.
without moving the bottle too much cut the top with a sharp razor blade and scoop out 1/4 or so of the the top layer.

If you are talking a pound of the bottle and you have 1/2 lb of other mixed in then you might as well throw it away. You be the judge.

My math says H380 half full bottle was a 1 pounder, and your "a bit" must have been 1 pound of Benchmark. Good luck getting 1.5 pounds of powder into a 1 pound bottle.

This is simple. Throw it out.
People struggle getting their loads to 1/10 of a grain with ONE known powder. What exactly would you do with your mix?
You made what is known as an error. BUT you caught it. In a way you can consider this quite fortunate.

Throw it out , the powder cost nothing compared to the ER visit.... Why in the world would you chance it... There's been tons of post on this site about mixing lots of the SAME powder...

I did a wee bit of titegroup into bullseye, very close in burn rate so I mixed it good. I think I did but wasn't sure.

I have my powder in a different part of the house so I only take out what I'm gonna use and put it on my bench but the powder I mixed was (?) in a trickler that I may have or not cleaned out but wasn't a lot.

You can't have back the moment just before all went Ka-Boom and someone is injured or a firearm destroyed. Lesson learned, you caught the mistake, capitalize on that discovery, toss the powder, move on.

Had a brain cramp and mixed shot and Clays together. Used a form of gold panning to separate them.
