Hogpatrol, your right about the 8000 hrs, and then you still learn through the years. The amazing thing in 1500 hrs i can pilot commercial planes with folks in them

You need a mentor to keep from getting hurt.

Be careful with them spindles turning. Last thing you need is to have your shirt tuck or necklace get caught on a spindle turning at 6000 plus RPMs. It'll throw your ass over the machine and kill you before you could even think. Other than that, learn how to run a manual mill/lathe before you learn how to run CNC programs. That's what spoiled me was I started on CNC learning code writing and MasterCAM etc. etc. I still have a hell of a time running a manual lathe though.
