One scope two rifles?

Has anyone tried a quality set of detachable rings? I would like to shoot all of my match rifles, but I don't want to buy Nightforce scopes for all of them.I have 6mm BR,.308,.300 RUM AI,and am going to build a 6.5x.284.Who make the best detachable rings.I have leupold Mark 4 rings on the .300 and Burris Signature on the others.

If you use the Burris signature Zee rings and a picatinny base on all the rifles you should be able to just take the screws out and slide the scope off and on to another . Just make sure that your rings are tall enough for your scope to clear your base . Just an idea .

The best detachable rings and bases would be the EAW Quick Locs. Here's the only place I've found to get them.

A Picatinny rail, however, is about the only thing that will give you free rein to switch between guns.

I would choose Tactical Precision rings and bases. They are excellent! And with a great price!

Check here: http://www.tacticalprecision.com/index.htm

It is the easiest ring to mount a scope I ever use,the scope did not turn when you turn the ring screws) and it returns to zero with less than 0,2 MOA change,if you use a Torque wrench, as I do).

I tried it on a pair of Steyr Pro hunters. Between the two rifles the vertical was close but the horizontal would change. Also I tried it with Farrel 20MOA bases but the spacing between a Savage base and a Remington SA and LA bases were different. If you plan to switch between rifles be sure the bases have identical spacing. The EAW mounts will work if you are swtiching between identical actions. You may want to look at IOR Valdada bases and rings. They are similar to the leupold line.

I can't see how two picatinny one piece bases has different slots spaces!

May be if the bases has just a few slots... it may happens. So, try a tactical precision or badger ordnance one piece base, that has slots all over their lenght.

If you have two one piece picatinny bases, the distance between the slots will be exactly the same and you should not have any problem in changing scopes between rifles equipped with one piece picatinny bases.

Neither did I but that is what I found. I would have to move a ring to accomodate the new base. Also here is a supplier you may want to look at: http://www.talbot.us/.

Get a one-piece Picitinny rail base for each rifle and a set of Picitinny-spec rings for the scope.

Go with either Badger Ordnance or Seekins Precision and you'll have a rock solid detachable mounting system.

Agree with Spotcheck Billy. Get a one-piece Picatinny rail for each rifle plus one set of quality rings for each scope. Seekins, Badger and TPS rings are all good.

Nightforce Ultra-light rings,Al+Ti construction) might also be worth a look. Though I haven't switched rifles, I have unmounted my scope several times with these. They were VERY smooth and precise - both going on and coming off.

Let us know how it turns out.

P.S. Unless you have a strong reason to do otherwise, you will probably find it most convenient if all of the rails have the same slope,i.e., 20 MOA or 0 MOA).

I have just about unified all my rigs...got Seekins 20MOA bases on everything, except my viper) so I can move scopes around at will...haven't actually swapped any yet...but it is nice to have the option :)
