one piece base for savage?????????????

I have one of the new savage edge rifles, it is a .243 win, but it looks to be on a long action, it has 2 piece bases, I purchased a new scope but the tube is shorter than the span between the bases, hence it will not fit. So my question is what type of 1 piece base will fit this action so I can mount the new scope. I have weaver style rings so that is the type of base I am looking for. Thank you, Ron Tilley

Couldn't you just get a weaver rail and then place the rings where it suits you?

Thanks, I guess my question is not clear, I am wondering if this action is a long action or a new action from savage with different dimmensions, it sure looks different from the savage rifles I have seen in the past, and the trigger is completely different. And are all the savage long actions the same? as far as hole spacing and length for a scope base? Thanks, Ron Tilley

You may want to look for a savage "Axis" base, as I have heard they had to change the name from edge to axis (they changed the name for sure) for some copyright or trademark infractions even though the rifle has only been out a year or so. EGW (as Jonbearman said) makes picatinny rails for these actions but they may be listed as Axis now.
Yes they are a new action from savage and the triggers etc.. are totally different, and I'll bet some of the other dimensions are too. If you can find a base for a short action axis, it should work for you.

i looked around axis/edge are the same gun as stated name changed . they are listed as short /long action all rolled into one . they are listed as seperate base # on weavers web page . i did see a couple companies listing one piece bases on the net under edge . T.R.
