One Mile P-dog with a 243?

Yes. Go for it. You will need 70 to 75 MOA of elevation from
a 100 yard zero.

750-1000 yards yes, but that would be it for me with a .243. There are so many other cartridges to choose from for the longer distances.

I have made 1 mile shots with mine ....... 7.5 twist barrel spitting 115 dtacs at a shade 0ver 3050 . I want to say I had 67 MOA elevation . Things get sketchy at that distance , 1 shot will be a hit, the next will miss by 75 feet . It can be done, but without a really good spotter , you are shooting blind .

Put enough rounds down range and you're bound to "HIT" something....Not exactly a "CALLED" shot though is it ? Try it .......I'm impressed by the shooter that can make 5 or 10 or whatever calls and HIT ALL 5 or 10 whatever shots, Not the shoot 15,20,25 whatever shots per hit and call it a called shot.

Shoots early or late with no wind and good visibility. Must be able to see yours hits
for adjustments. On day with perfect conditions I had a prarie dog and ground hog
sillouette at 1680 yd, longest set-up I could get. 4 hits of 20 shouts. 6 Dasher 115's.

The 115 Bergers or 115 dtacs would probably be choice. What powder(s) would yield the most velocity before hitting pressure? RL25?

I failed to ask Randy, what powder you were stuffing 3/4 up into the neck and what pills you were using that day I helped you load when we were shooting point blank at 800yds?

I love coming here....to see who's trying to 'out yarn' whomever!! ;D :o

You would have truly enjoyed it - if you had been there... ;)

Not close to being a bench shooter but with the gun set up, NF and a 4x8 steel plate to "zero in". L'il ol' me after 3 shots on the plate to get a feel for "conditions" went to the ground hog cutout and hit one dead center in the boiler room red dot and two more 5" low that were abt 1.5" max spread.

It was also drizzling. Didn't see the first hit on the plate till after the second shot then there were 2 hits. Dialed in equipment of excellent quality really helps. Right Doc?

Those Confederate snipers were probably subsonic after the first couple hunnerd yards. Just something that has to be dealt with.
