My father had been dropping down into this little hole and bumping into the same elk for 3 days in a row. So he decided to leave it alone for a few days till I was off work. We did a 4-prong trap. I dropped down from the north, my brother came in from the east, my friend from the west, and my dad from the south. My brother was being pretty noisy coming in. He ended up spooking 3 deer my way. My first thought was "way to be quiet dipsh*t." Then all of a sudden the first bull ran past me, I just barely caught a glimpse of him when this bull was coming my way. I threw my rifle up and track him through the timber for about 2-3 seconds before I torched a round off hitting a tree in front him. That elk kicked into the next gear and really started running. I was able to get back on him and put a shot high on his shoulder to stop him and then a finishing shot to the neck.Joe C said:Great pics! Would love to hear about the hunt!
