On Target PC for the not so computer savy--

I use On Target PC to measure and analyze my targets. I have seen several comments about transferring the data to Excel to compare and store it. Please explain the easiest way to accomplish this.

I've always just typed the limited info I wanted into my Excel Load Test book. But your question prompted me to look at OnTarget and sure enough there are two "Export" options on the Tools menu. One exports "Project Data", the other "Point Data".

To test, open the last OnTarget file you created (or create a new one). Then use the EXPORT options to produce OnTarget.csv and OnTargetPt.csv files which you can direct to be stored anywhere, eg "Desktop". (BTW, .csv means the file contains Comma Separated Values so it's a straight text file that can also be viewed (eg) in Notepad).

Once on the Desktop, double click one of the files and Excel should open displaying the contents of that file. From there you can copy and paste whatever you want into other Excel Worksheets depending on what you want to do. Repeat with the other file.

Hope that helps, and thanks for making me look lol.

ETA: You can also open Excel yourself and then use the normal OPEN sequence to open the .csv files, but you will have to select TEXT FILES from the drop-down box in order to see them listed. Another option is to drag and drop the files into an open Excel workbook.
