On a lighter note

I think that is because our parents snuggled a little too much, under the blankets and quilts, on those cold Dec/Jan nights.
Nothing wrong with snuggling under blankets and quilts, beats the crap outta sleeping on top of sheets sweating in sweltering heat & humidity, MHO of course. ;)

Had to lookup what a swather is and came close to guessing. I'm from the days of the sicklebar and windrower being two separate pieces of equipment. Then came the bucking bales. Love the smell. Steer, hog and horse. . . ., not so much.

My only child was born on Friday the 13th. Just celebrated his 40th birthday. At 40, he has a full military pension, and is earning $85K as a civilian. Married with 2 boys.
Yeah, I'm a proud Dad!
Our only child, a son, was born on Flag Day 1983. He's a paramedic & supervisor with a triple digit salary, married to a wonderful gal, and gave us 3 beautiful granddaughters 10, 5, & 3 1/2.

I join you as a proud dad! :)

Such a wonderful change in weather patterns

Look at all the people in this thread that prefer cooler, comfortable weather.

So why, in the hell, does it seem like everyone tries to squeeze so many activities and events into the crappiest weather. June-august?

I like having a hoodie on and shooting in temps of 10-60 degrees.

I’ll never get it. Bunch of reptiles. Not complaining, just an observation. When I go to the “shooting club”, ain’t nobody to deal with ;)

Could also be a lot of "New Years Eve Babies".
A lot of folks starting the new year with a bang, if ya know what I mean. ;) jd
I’m early April, and know a lot of people also born early April. I’ve always said that our parents celebrated the 4th of July with a bang!
