Olin Winchester 452AA & 473AA

Hello,

If memory serves, you can use these powders for handgun purposes. Your best bet would be to contact the folks at Hodgdon to see if they have some of the old data available from Winchester. You should be able to contact some of the other companies that publish loading data to see what they might have available for these powders that simply may have never been published.

Cordially,
Bob Blaine

I used many 8# kegs of both 452AA and 473AA many years ago feeding a trapshooting habit. 452AA has a burn rate about like Red Dot and 473AA is a bit slower, about like Unique. I shot some in various lead bullet pistol loads, .45acp and .357 Mag and perhaps some lite loads in .44 Mag. PM me if you are uanble to find any loads and I'll see if I can dig up some old data. Vic

What specific calibers and bullets are you going to use? I have the complete collection of 14 Speer Reloading Manuals and I believe both of those powders are listed.

452AA is the same as Hodgdon's Trap 100,now discontinued). One of my favorite powders for 45ACP. Clean burning, measures easy, consistent results.
