OLD shotgun shells 22 long

Hey everyone, I came across all these old shotgun shells and boxes . Federal Peters , some German ones , double O buck ,target, slugs, and old rem and Winchester 22 22lr. About 100 rounds. Any one have any idea of values or collectibles. Thanks

There is quite a collectors market for that and there are quite a few sites dedicated to the subject. Just gotta Google the subject matter. Also, ebay is a good place to see what people are willing to pay. When I find them, I tend to just keep them or pass them on to folks that appreciate the old, unique and memorable..

Rod is correct. There is a BIG market. I personally collect 12 gauge boxes and wooden crates. As with everything it is all about condition. You will be able to see a wide variety of what is available and asking prices by looking on eBay. Boxes with the correct unfired shells fetch top dollar. (But beware of the legal issues with these.) In my neck of the woods (SE Wisconsin) old shell boxes are always found for sale at the local gun shows. I would say on average in good condition anywhere from $15.00 to $35.00. Old two piece boxes sell well beyond that at the upper end of the spectrum. ( I have some very early ones that I paid $55 - $65 for.) Some of the rarest of the rare are the "Christmas" boxes. These contained 100 shotgun shells, and were large square flat two piece boxes.

Just log onto eBay and search for "shell box" or "shell box 12" or "ammo box".

Thanks guys. I'm going though them now. A lot of them have the cardboard were it's says like double O buck. Different states and town and even a brass 16 gauge loaded shell. All were made before plastic hulls. I'm'm learning slot about them
