OLD SCHOOL LOOKING TO IMPROVE MY RIFLES, OPINIONS NEEDED.

I have shot long range benchrest for many years but always had 3" fore end stocks. I am looking for experience, pros, cons for changing to a stock wider than 3". I really love the appearance of the LRB low riders, I dont know what other offerings there are out there. Questions I have are what are the weight differences between wood or any type of composits? Is one easier to make weight for light gun class than the other? Who all makes that style of stock or are they limited to Wheeler and how big of improvements do you guys that have switched from 3" fore ends to 4" or bigger?

I’ve noticed less vertical and better tracking with 4 in
check out @Webb5X products also.

I don't shoot long range but a wider stock has to track better and torgue less, more so with bigger cartridges. Just my opinion

My new HG 28N rifle has a 5" fore end. It will be interesting to see how I adjust to that added stability.

Just buy a 4" adapter and some 3M molding tape to attach it to the stock. You will have to invest in a front bag but the cost of the two items I mentioned pale in comparison to a new stock.
