Old Nolser bullets, interesting find.

Those look like they were imprinted on a letterpress. The guy who setup the type positioned the letters incorrectly and nobody caught it. Its amazing sometimes we would print jobs that took days and a glaring error would go un noticed until the thing shipped
I used to work for a company that made promotional products. All orders were checked by another operator after the first item was produced. We had them read everything backwards so peoples brains didn't just jump over the errors.
Of course it didn't always work but seemed to help.

I always knew "solder" was a misspelling.

Ever seen the fancy engraving on the bells of brass instruments? In music school we had a Besson tuba engraved "B S S S O N".

My favorite misspelling/typo/joke was an ad in the Escanaba daily that was advertising "Grandfather Clocks 30% Off" but somehow the L got dropped from Clocks and no one noticed until it went to print. Once it was in print many people caught much to the chagrin of the jewelry store that ran the ad.
