Old 40x action

Thanks for the heads up on it. I would love to have the factory stampings on the barrel, if they could do that. Mr. Stan Taylor has given me some good advise and said that they could blue it for me. I have everything but a barrel. I have a new barreled action that was built by the head armorer with a elite gov. agency that I have never shot in 308, I may have to move my barreled action to fund this old 40X.

This is the info I have for Remington Custom shop @ Dakota
Ward @ 605-347-4686 EXT 305
Garrett @ 605-347-7622
This info is before the bankruptcy.

I spoke with Ward today, thanks so much. Also have another question on the old 40X. Anyone know who might be able to anodize the trigger guard back to as close to factory. I have not tried a magnet, but I think it is aluminum. It does look better than the ones made today.

I would try hard anodize. Some alloys of aluminum and cast aluminum don't anodize well. Cerrokote might be a better bet and remember you may have to pay a minimum lot charge.

Any idea Butch who may do that type of work. The action is a polished blued, but that bottom metal appears to be more of a matte. I would think that it would have been more polished to match the action.

Also, I have a hat and shirt on the way for WVU Mountaineers Rifle.

Darn that’s a bit of a wait but hopefully it will be worth it!

So there is never much stuff online for tees, I found this link, but its out of stock it appears

Otherwise its all the shops in Morgantown than typically have them. Now if its just one for yourself I can probably dig around in the closet here and see what we have!

Not sure if your heard from Todd, but Katie chose TCU. Definitely disappointing but it is what it is. I think she loved the team and many things here but something swayed her to TCU. We’ll move onto the next ones and have a few good ones we are still after for next year.

Thanks!
Jon

I wanted to get that Tee, but they are out of stock on 2XX . If I could find a store in Morgantown that would have them, I would get a couple in 2XX.

Jon is about my only connection left at WVU. After my Grandson graduated and a new football staff moved in, the only good guy is Mike Joseph that we know. Not saying none are there, I just don't know them.

I just called a couple of shops with out any luck. Something will pop up on the shirts. Going to work on the 40X rifle and try to get it back up and running.

I would ask Stan Taylor or Jim Kobe. Both are forum members.

The place down in Wyoming. Glenrock Wyo I think. Can't remember the name. Someone here will know. I used them before. I give them 5 stars.
Glenrock blue does fabulous work. They have done several for a friend that builds custom rifles. There phone number 307-436-2330. They are very reasonable if you have all polishing done. Tom
