oil residue on dies

Ive used a few different oils on my dies and a few of the oils have left residue and or gotten gummy and dried out on my dies.
What oil would be good for die storage?

I use the CRC Rust inhibitor sold at Autozone. Works really well on my dies and hand tools out in the garage.

I have most of my dies in one large case and put a rust inhibiting pad in the case. Any hardware store has them. I also put them in the drawers in my bench that hold calipers, comparators, trimmers, etc..

WD-40 will dry to a gummy residue. Break-free CP or Collector has worked for me as well as some of the ones that others have mentoned.
