Ohio Groundhog 2025 Starts!

How's that Zulus scope working out for you? I'm on the edge of getting one.
It is a gamechanger in terms of getting killshots on video. So much faster than trying to range, calculate my dope, turn on a video camera, get the groundhog in frame, hit REC, and make the shot!

That sequence of events could take at least 45 seconds to a minute!

Now, it's point, range, press REC on the scope, and shoot! Which literally is less than 5 seconds.

I bought the Zulus without the rangefinder. I was being penny-wise and pound foolish. I didn't understand the need for the rangefinder until trying to shoot at night. You have NO depth-perception shooting with IR.

going 2 the 600 range. [6dash 105 ber v135]. so dammmm cold not BR. what do u shoot?? Steve

Glad to see that you picked up the Tract Bino's. They are the best buy going in Bino's bar none. Truely World Class optics. I sold all of my Swaro's because the Tract's are that clear.

Don't know if you know the old trick on getting the groundhogs to stand up for the shot. A quick little whistle will make them stand and look around. I do miss groundhog hunting more so than deer hunting. I always said that if a groundhog was 400 lbs, we would be in trouble. They are one tough little critter. I had a gut shot on one many years ago and he drug 4 foot of intestines to the hole, he did not make it deep in the hole and I did recover it.

Miss being out in the field.

Yeah, I used to blow on an empty brass for a whistle.

I started using 3D archery targets as decoys about 10 years ago = very effective!
