I have always thought that Marlin messed up by getting rid of their Camp Carbines. Those were neat little guns.

When Ruger brought back the .44 Carbine (circa 2006), they messed up by marketing it with a magazine holding only four rounds. If they had made a mag hanger/well which could accept, say, Desert Eagle mags, it would have sold better.

I think Henry is on to something.

They retailed for $459 in 1999, the last year of production. Adjusted for inflation that's $806 in today's money, not all that much difference in cost.

I don't doubt at all that you did. Adjusting for inflation just compares the money on the same basis so it's an apples to apples comparison. What year did you buy it?
