I thought when you turned it 90deg, the windage became the elevation and vice versa.

(In reference to my previous post) Well now, 45 or so years later, and knowing a little bit about what's inside a scope and how turrets work...basically a screw thread after all...the trouble should have been obvious. But back then I thought I was being helped by "the experts."

Believe this if you want, a few BR competitors turned theirs 90deg because it was easier for a left hand person.
It is simple, the windage becomes the elevation and vice versa.
