I'll make sure to have hardened hardware when I try my test, Thanks. ... HBWhen I was associated with Custom Metal Products, with single bolt supported targets, we started to ship two hard flat washers with each hardened carriage bolt and locknut. Putting a hard flat washer between the mounting point and the AR500 target allowed the bolt to be tightened up and helped the target ring much louder, because it was connected in a small area. The other flat washer went between the locknut and the mount.
Typically this would ring louder than a chain supported gong.
You pay for shipping, sure!I bet a 1.5” thick piece is pretty portable! Send me one in a flat rate box- that would be even better than a box of bullets packed full
Yea manYou pay for shipping, sure!
Have 2.5, 4, 6, 8 inch diameter.
Might have a 10 inch.
Conveyor belt strap & frame not included.![]()
We used all hardened hardware as a standard. If you use a softer washer between the target and the stand, it may have to be replaced if it starts to get loose. Bolts on targets do get loose.... they need to be tightened occasionally. Think about it from the target's standpoint, catching bullets is tough duty.I'll make sure to have hardened hardware when I try my test, Thanks. ... HB
1/2 will ring like a cymbal if you hit it with a big enough round3/8" AR500 will ring if hung, 1/2" AR500 will clap.
That's what I'm talking about. Thanks.... HBThe way you make a target ring depends on 2 things:
1. The hardness of the steel.... Soft steel won't ring
2. A single mounting point..... Clamping a bracket on the back of steel deadens harmonics. The more bolts through the steel the less ring you will have.
Hang Fast Targets was founded on this principle. Here is one of our first videos we made to promote our products.
