Ogive length ?

I used a new Redding Instant Indicator to check the ogive length on some new 105's
for my new BAT 6br that were made on a well know makers dies by a new owner, and I find they vary as much as .020 in length, is this considered normal ???????
I checked some 80 grain Fowlers and they were tons closer than that....actually they were only about .003 difference in the whole lot... did I just get lucky with Fowlers ?

Can't compare FB's to BT's in this respect...

New sierra 142s and 175s,7mm) less than 0.005" ES
Berger 180s: 0.016 ES
CR 106: 0.002" ES
105 Scenar: 0.003" ES

[Moderator: Jason and I have the same lot of 105 Scenars. I concur with the .003" ES, However, I'd note that 17-18 out of 20 are within .0015, measured with dual comparators. I no longer sort these bullets. They are the most consistent factory bullets I've ever seen. Using a Wilson seater, I can generally hold my loaded rounds within .003" Cartridge overall length with the Scenars--and that's without trimming meplats. Pretty amazing.]
