Ogive Ladder?

I tested out some reloads(80gr) I made up for my AR-15 and came up with a pretty nice load, about .4" @100yds and now want to work on trying out different ogives for that load. What would be a good starting point and at what increments should I use? I'm using a sled so OAL does not matter and if you're thinking .4" is good enough, it is for 100yds but I'll be headed out to the 600yd range this summer so I need to tighten it up a bit. Right now my ogive is at 1.916 and my max would be 1.950 with the bullets I am using.

I believe you're wanting to determine the best CBOL for the round you are loading. Optimal CBOL is a factor of your seating depth relative to the base of the case. I usually work in increments of .005 (in your case 1.916. + .005 and so on) until the desired result is achieved. Frankly, for the AR-15, I'd be happy with the .4 moa. If you can hold that out to 600 yards you'll be doin' just fine, IMO.

What I want is to set the depth of the bullet a certain distance from the lands which I thought was called ogive. I'm not using a magazine so length is not an issue really. Yes, if I can hold a .4" moa at 600 yards I would be very happy and probably win some money too boot! :)
