Just so happened that it was on my b-day that my son and four other buddies all took a long roadtrip out to Rayners Range in eastern ohio.
I had never shot at that distance as there really is not a place here locally or within 100 miles or so to do it.
Let me just say it was probably the funnest b-day I have ever had in my life.
Not only just the shooting but, the views and friends I had with me made for one fantastic day.
I was very comfortable shooting at that distance although 1000 yards is quite a distance.
You really had to watch the wind flags thats for sure especially out past 600+.
My son and I took are .308 and a 6.5cm which neither had problems whacking the gong at 1000 repeatedly.
Although I quickly found out I need 20moa bases (15 moa at least) on both rifle as I ran out of scope on both at 1000. Luckily I was within the reticle holds and used those for the difference needed.
Im sure most fellas on here have shot out to a 1000 but, if you haven't dont do it. You will want to keep doing it.
Here are a couple pictures at 600 yards. To do 1000 you go around and to the top of the hill behind where you where then shoot back over the 600 area (gotta close that area of if you going to shoot over top of it). If you zoom in you can see the 600 gongs at the top of the hill in the cleared area.

I also wanted to give out a shout to the Rayners. Super friendly gent with a nice well kept range to shoot at being very affordable as well.
