My wifey wants the garage cleaned out. I've been holding on to this wheel for 40 years. It came out of the barn at our old farm. I would love to know what it's for , what it's worth and who wants it. Proceeds to the site. I'll pack and ship for free. Make me an offer.

C'mon guys! There has to be some old guy here that drove on one of these! My little bit of research reveals that wood spoked wheels on cars were offered until 1933.

My uncle restored a 1931 Pierce-Arrow among others. It also had steel hubs and steel rims with wooden spokes. They were oak , and he cut the tree, seasoned the wood, milled it and cut the spokes. Very talented guy, my dad said he died last month. I think they got to be in a little bit better condition to be worth much.

Well I don't like to consider myself a real "old guy" but been around some. Looks similar to a Model T wheel but I cannot remember what the hub looks like on those. Spoke shape is pretty close I think? Maybe a first yr Mustang as Fords have always been pretty primitive haven't they? ;) And that would be over 40yrs.lol

I'm getting closer to finding out what it is. I may have to "cross post this listing on other forums. First I'll take it by time stamp" kind of thing. I can't believe there's not one "Old car guy" on this forum.

Yours has 14 spokes, the Buick has 10.
1st glance makes me think it's for a truck or a trailer. That many spokes makes me assume it was for heavy loads.
Nice yard art none the less.

I'd sandblast it, paint it, restore the wood some, set it in your wife's flower bed, all the while telling her you had saved this for her for 50 yrs, just got misplaced for a spell.

Josh, I'm almost 76yrs old,So myself and others are not old enough to have actually seen one. I would guess the 1910-1920 timeframe, about the time of my Mother and Father's birthdate.
