Off to deer camp without a rifle or a holster

Well, I was banished from the house by the misses this weekend so off to deer camp I go. It was a justifiable banishment, the kids are at their biological fathers for the weekend and she lost her father less than a month ago. Her need for quiet is understandable. Since the Savage Axis .243 was not lucky last year I thought I'd try something different. So the XP-100 in 7mm BR is going with me. It is an amazing shooter, once I pulled off a .25" three shot group at 100 yds. She will also pop 2 liter bottles at 200 yds all day long. Don't shoot her that often, still have four boxes of Remington factory ammo which could bring a tidy some, but there at 200 once fired cases just waiting for a chance at the RCBS Rock Chucker.
Anyway, the embarrassing part is that I have my '93 vintage Colt King Cobra as well, for a number of reasons. However, in my rush to pack, the holster was over looked. It sits safely in its factory box right now but how do I carry it with me to the stand?

I cradle mine in my forearm when walking. I figure already in the hand is better than at rest in my holster.pinky finger under butt with my thumb over or under the hammer , the barrel lays over my forearm pointing out over my elbow. I’m in the woods with mine now. Service is to slow and will not upload pictures. I’ll send pic after dark when I’m back to camp

A few years ago I got a call from one of my farmer friends informing me that he just cut the hay and there were a bunch of new holes so I should come over and do some ground hogging.

I got so excited that I loaded up the truck and rushed out in my slippers. I was 3 miles down the road before I realized I didn't have my boots on! o_O

Showing up to hunt with 243 shells and a 308 rifle is not any better.
Now my reloads are more clearly marked.
