off-the-shelf cap for muzzle brake threads?

I've bought meself a rifle with a removable (Vais) brake. I don't intend to use the brake, but I'd like to cover up the threads. I can get a cap made to fit, but for expedience I wonder if there's something off-the-shelf that would work well enough. I don't really care how it looks; it's more about protecting the threads and not affecting accuracy like an unintended tuner.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Harrells has them, but I believe they are only 32 TPI..
Any one with a lathe could make you one if the threads are different than that...

Nate, I've used a few made by Advanced Armament Corp in 5/8-24. Midway sells them, but it appears that most, if not all are on back order for the various thread sizes. Quite a few suppressor manufacturers market a protector.

I don't know if it's the 11/16" - 24 TPI or the 5/8" - 32 TPI. But I'll now in a few days, and I'll get back to you. Thanks!

Brownells would be the cheapest route for you. Some Vais have an odd thread pitch so check first to be sure.

I tried calling Brownell's several times today, and always got a busy signal. :P

Keep trying. Them boys are busier than you can imagine with all of the hoopla going on.

Caps are $35 plus shipping from Vais (plus fab time). I was looking for something off the shelf, as mentioned in the OP. 8)
