Oehler Chronograph Model 35p issues

Greetings all,

I own Model 35p, but I have recently experienced two problems.

1. The display shows a different sped than the printer prints. As an example, the display shows , 2548 ft/s (?), but the printer printed 836 ft/s. The switch settings from S1 to S7 are as follows: Off, Off, On, Off, Off, Off, On.

I would appreciate any idea how to explain the inconsistency.

2. Although the printer prints, the paper is not advanced - I have to move the paper by hand. Although upon inspection all the wheels and their respective axles appear to be turning, the rollers do not. It appears that the Epson Model-41V is no longer in production, and I cannot find any data on the interface, so that I can either find a substitute, or even better, at this time interface the chronograph to a computer.

Would anybody know the interface specification and timing?

Kindest regards,

M

As above. I had the same issues with mine and called Oehler. They fixed me right up with advise and parts. Frankly I can not remember what was involved but it was simple.

Nicest people you will ever deal with, I have a 35P set up permanently out of my shooting port in my shop. I imagine your problem is how you threaded the paper between the feed rollers. As far as the rest they will be glad to help...

As above, had my electronic/printing unit reconditioned a few months ago; service and price were very good, works as well as original now.

Greetings all,

thank you for the reply. I had sent them an e-mail, so I give them a few days and follow with a phone call.

Kindest regards,

could it be that it is 836 meters/sec?

Hi steve_podleski,

no, it is a pistol.

Nevertheless, the curious think is that the ration of the two number is a coefficient relating ft/s to m/s.

Kindest regards,

M

Put a new battery in it and see if that helps. I recently experienced some weird readouts on mine and a new battery fixed it.

Had a problem with my model 35, sent printer back and got a new one no cost with in a week. Great people to deal with give them a call.

they found a supply of printers a few years ago, which is why the 35p is available again. they always keep spare parts on hand.
