OCW vs Ladder Test, what do you prefer?

In other words which one do you find to work best for you? Even if you're using a chronograph in both types of load development?

They both look for the same thing. Your looking for different powder charges to hit the same POI. The problem is they need to be done at the intended range you plan to shoot. You cant do that with OCW.
Now, if you just want a good load for say a hunting gun OCW along with good ES MIGHT hold up decent at long range.

I have had excellent results using Dan Newberry's 100 yd OCW method in round robin sequence.

Erik Cortina does his own version of an OCW test. He stopped shooting at 300 yards and does development at 100 yards with a final verification at whatever distance he plans on competing at.
