OCW test results... need help on what group i should work on. From what iv been told , i dont pick the smallest group size .but i should work on the ones that have the same POI ?. That way i can stay in the window of accuracy if my loads are not perfect every time, and should keep good groups

Its a 223 with a 69gr SMK with Imr 4895 at 100 yards

Did you pull one shot on 23.8, if you did work 24gr on seating depth. since either side of the charge seems to have a stable POI

I would think having a grid would help.

Yeah didnt think about that ..... i could have pulled 23.8 i wanted to load more than 3 rounds but didnt have time to prep more brass

I dont have MV data for any of the loads sorry. The barrwl is 26 inch , 1 in 7 twist

I was using mag length oal. It was 2.260 i think.. id have to look to make sure ...id be happy to have a load i can shoot 1/2 moa all the time .

Great target First I have seen done without a tuner.
I wish the target had just shots. Ever target has one bullet that seams to be a flyer . 2- 2 shot targets would give better information.
From the point of aim that being the only reference. I will list from 23 and go up.
23 low left 23.2 low right with vertical 23.4 low R trending Horizontal 23.6 L R Vertical 23.8 R moving up 24.0 R up vertical
24.2 up R horizontal 24.4 R L Horizontal 24.6 R 24.8 R up 25 R UP. I like from 24.6 to 25 That is the area that my guns shoot the best. Up and Right from the point of aim. The one bullet is out makes it hard to give a good reading. I would pursue testing in that area. Location from the point of aim is .04 Gr which can be a wide tune area. Larry
Note give me 2 -2 shots instead of 3 it is only one more bullet.

Test and Test Then Test again . When the weather changes Back to ground Zero Better yet get a tuner and learn how to use it.
Every target has one bullet that is way out. That needs to be corrected. All the targets are trending vertical that shows Mirage ?

With comments like yours I wonder why anyone bothers to share experiences with us at all?
I bite my tongue now before I post anything at all.
But .....
I have thought about deleting this post at least 3 times but decided to let it ride anyway!

I'm with Dusty with what he said. When I test in that manner, i look for the group that is the most round. I don,t care where it hits on the target, you can always adjust for that. With that in mind I would choose the 24.6 gr group. Did I miss it or are you shooting this out of a bolt rifle or a semi-auto? I'm looking for a reason you chose to seat them at mag length. The next thing I would do is check your neck clearance and neck tension. I would play with seating depth after that. But most importantly to me is the chronograph numbers. ES and SD are very strong indicators of whether you have a consistent, stable load or not. I have 3 ring binders for every barrel I own. That is important for several reasons, but mostly so I'm not trying to remember things like it's preferred load, the number of rounds down range for the barrel, etc. If you have any further questions feel free to post it here on PM me and I'll do my best to help you. Just a suggestion ,if possible run that test at a minimum of 200 yards or farther.

You'll be able to see the nodes forming more clearly as testing progresses.

Based upon the groups shown. 23.8 grains and 24.6 grains look promising. And, 33 rnds is not a lot for testing. I apologize for morons who criticize rather than answer the question posed.

I have a chronograph on order mine died for some reason it was old anyway.. and its rem 700 bolt gun,
