Objective seal failure?

So, getting my 30-06 ready for deer season... I don't shoot this much outside of that, so I was getting it ready when I saw this when I pulled the front lens cap:

Seems the rubber ring around the outside of the objective is falling out.

Should I be concerned? I am worried about fogging and rain.

For reference it is a Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42, been on the rifle for 4 years.

I may just send it to Vortex to get it fixed. Problem is I'll need a new scope as the season starts in 4 weeks.

Vortex has an excellent warranty you need to send it to them and have it fixed properly because it will fog if that seal comes out completely the lens would be loose any recoil could cause it to chip or break you are going to need a replacement scope for a while
