Dumb question? Is there a rule of thumb starting point for seating bullets to oal. I`ve found touch length in two different bullets. Accubond 180 and hornardy 165 interbond in 300 win mag. Loading for a sako finnlight, could it be I didn`t shorten em up enough. I went as far a .025 off and didn`t seem to matter? Thanks

You can load to book OAL but you shouldn't increase your powder charge. Either start with the bullet touching the lands or at magazine OAL. I start at lands and work Charge then adjust into the case for tuning. If you don't want to jam bullets start off 10 or 20 thousands.
