Oak Ridge Tn. Match in March

goldy1 said:
yes sir, I'll have the brx there. I got reservations at the days inn right up the road. I'm using SSS stock as well, the thumbhole version. My girlfriend is coming along with me for the trip. Is it possible for her tocome pull targets with me so i can show her how? I plan to get her shooting in an up coming match.

In that case I may be able to make it to help her with target pulls!

NOT! I aint gonna get to go. :'(

Anyone not been here before is missing out......... this is the most beautiful range anywhere! Deer come out and grase while the match is going on... OH no, don't think about it. It is the best range I've been to... in the S.E.

And watch out for brxbrad...he is a sly dog......

"I am bringing a new straight .284 I cobbled together with spare parts over the winter. I hope it shoots halfway decently!" ;)

Bet it shoots great - see ya there!

How'd you boys shoot up there today?

We were sunny 75 today with south wind 5 mph!

Had a good shoot with alot of F-classers in Moss Point Mississippi. I miss Oak Ridge though. See ya next month.

I was able to make the 1000yrd match Sat. It was windy. Nobody set any records other than the number of times people scratched their heads in disbelief. You would see 2 x's than immediately a 7 to the left then a 8 to the right. It was a great time.

Sunday is supposed to be a better day. Good luck to the lucky ones who got to stay.

We missed you being there Sailhertoo. Hope to see ya next month. I'm going to try to stay both days.

I'll post the results as soon a I get them.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the match director? It was a great match, I just need to get him my NRA #
Thanks,
Joe

Our match Saturday at Pascogula was posted two days later. As it usually is. Course, Our match director is an marine and gets everything squared away super fast.

Oak Ridge is, well, slow to get results out.

Not sure if you were asking for 1000 or 600yd
Here's the 1000yd:
1st & 2nd were shooting a straight 284 & 3rd was shooting a 7mm RSAUM
1-180 Berger 284
Sokolowski MA F-O 193 2 192 3 186 2 571 7x
2-175 SMK 284
Wells MA F-O 191 3 189 5 190 4 570 12x
3- ? Biggs
Biggs HM F-O 186 3 191 4 189 5 566 12x
7mm RSAUM

On the 600yd:
1 - Sokolowski MA F-U 196 9 194 10 196 6 586 25x Winner (by one X)
6.5x47 Lapua
2 - Biggs HM F-U 198 8 196 9 192 7 586 24x
7mm RSAUM
3 - Goldsberry MU F-U 193 5 191 8 193 4 577 17x
Unknown

I shoot a 6.5x47 Lapua 300-600 mid-range matches and my 284 at the 1000yd line. Could use the 6.5x47 at a 1000 if I had to. I think you can switch rifles during the match relays as long as you stay in F-Open, have to verify. I've seen folks switching barrels so I think it is the case.

Are we allowed to bring our own spotter discs? I thought the ones used at the match were too big. I think something like a 1" diameter would be perfect for 600 yards.
Joe

The spotter disc used for F-Class at Oak Ridge was the rapid fire spotter, but I see that they were not broke out this year. It would be ok if you want a 1" spotter used when your shooting, but I would check and make sure that the others on the same firing point wish to have you score with them or use the other 3" spotter first.
