My schedule is up in the air, I may be in New York on the 13-14, or just getting back. If I am in TN I'll be there.

I need to confirm my load in the six five two eighty four. I know I have a good load in the three oh eight.

The picture brought back memories; I grew up in Oak Ridge (ORHS '62) and shot there many times in the late '50s and early '60s. My big LOL moment came in my mid '20s when I got out to shoot in other parts of the country and found out how few gun clubs had 1000 yard ranges. The Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association had one, so I figured most clubs must have one.....

You live and learn. ;D Thanks for the memories.

So 3x1000 saturday. No 3x 600 Sunday? I'm comfused.

Just shot 600 today with Brian Bowlings at La. and tried to get him to come shoot with us this comming weekend.

Well yes, he kicked but. Were going to ban him from the lower 48 if possible.

What a nice guy to shoot with. I hope to see him at ORSA this weekend.

Would be nice to see Mr. Biggs show up as well. If your gonna get your as wouped I couldent think of two better guys to do it!

eta- except me maybe....just kidding..but wishing...

It's been a couple of yrs since we had 600s on Sunday. The last couple of yrs we've been doing Palma on Sundays and a Full Bore match later in the month. I believe there were only three 600 yard HP matches on the calendar this yr.

I will be in Pittsburgh this weekend..... Summer sucks for me as my schedule gets so hectic. I really am going to miss shooting this weekend!

I'm on Staten Island with no prospect of getting out of here in time to get home this weekend. You guys have a good time.

I have shot the palma matches on Sunday but not familiar with the fullbore matches. How are those ran? Yardages etc?

I can not make Saturday but possibly could Sunday. Want to try out my new barrel!

Ken, the FB matches are run just like the Palma matches at 800-900-1000. I think the sling guys run them as FB so they can get FB classifications as well as LR. The Palma matches count toward your LR classification, but FB scores go to a completely different classification.

In Fullbore, limited to bullets less than 156 grns if shooting .308. In Palma, the bullets can be heavier.

Results for the July matches were sent to the competitors, but not yet posted on the ORSA website.

Wonder how everyone did today. Would have liked being there myself.

I shoot F-TR so take this for what it's worth.

800 and 900 were not overly challenging. I was shooting virgin brass. I think I had maybe half a minute on from sighters and I never held out side of the 10 ring. I dropped two points that I should have seen the shift and a couple of leaker 9s and had one shot fall low (8) that I blame on an bad load. I was not unhappy with my shooting at 800 or 900; however, by the time we got back to 1000 the Oak Ridge wind was in full effect. In my relay there was cloud cover on 2/3 of the range that never went away. No mirage that I could see in the spotter or my 42x NF. I could see the X when I adjusted my parallax. I think I threw a 7 on about my 3rd shot. Absolutely no readable conditions that I could see. (I really need to pick a spot in the trees above the range and see if I can read anything there on days like today). The last 8/9/1000 match I shot a HM score, today I dropped 18 points at 1000 yds in 15 shots. (I think I won the day on X count because the other F class guys took the same beating at 1000)

I was trying to figure it out at 1000, but in my scope and on the flags there was nothing to read. It was one of those days where you look in the spotter and take consolation that the RSAUM next to you has the spotter in the same place you do, even if it is a 7.

In hindsight, if I had it to do over again I'd have shot as fast as I could and just chased the spotter w/o dialing anything after my sighters. I really think if I'd finished as fast as my puller could have pulled and just held opposite the spotter I'd have finished at least 5 points higher.
